The judging process, including feedback and the ranking of plans, is accomplished through an on-line judging system. All judges and teams are asked to register on-line and are given a user ID and password.
Each Executive Summary plan is reviewed by judges. The submitted plan is judged on clarity and effectiveness of the document in communicating the items described in Executive Summary Template, the viability of the business and evidence that sufficient research and analysis to demonstrate the viability of the business concept has been conducted.
The judge reviews the overviews via the on-line judging system and scores the plan in three distinct categories. Overviews will be reviewed by multiple judges and all scores aggregated to determine the top twenty-five teams. The top twenty-five will be judged by a new set of judges and the highest eight scores proceed to the Finals.
The Final 8 teams will submit a Full Business Plan. The final business plan is judged on how well each team demonstrates that it can achieve its goals and that its goals are worth pursuing.
A panel of judges will be present at the Finals to hear each team's pitch. The Pitch is judged based on the following criteria:
- Quality of the idea
- Communication
- Scale of the potential opportunity
- Overall knowledge of the entrepreneurial management process
Ultimately, the Finals judges determine the prize winners.
